DISASTER!!!
A huge magnitude 7.1 earthquake centered 40 km west of Christchurch, New Zealand struck at 4.36 am on the morning of Saturday the 4th of September, 2010.These are some of the 'afterquake' pictures.DEVASTATING......
We were all shocked and started searching for the torch after panicking for 5 seconds... We huddled in doorways in total darkness without power wondering whether or not the shaking would stop D: Can u imagine how scary it is?? T^T At that instance,I thought i was going to die......We hurried outside with our pyjamas.hahahahah.Btw,we werent the only one still in pyjamas ok??one of my friend told me,she drove to cashmere hill (hill top) right after the shake..i was like 'WHY?' She replied ive be safe if tsunami hits cuz tsunami is normally caused by earthquake..and we all burst into laughter..but come to think of it,its reasonably true lo..><
A state of civil emergency was declared early that morning.ZERO death toll is certainly a blessing. This is considered a true miracle considering the Haiti earthquake in January was comparable as it also measured a size 7.1 in magnitude.Well,according to mum,this is probably because God is protecting us cuz CHRISTchurch mar...><>
So the schools and public buildings are off until friday :) we've got a week off xD
Many people have had their homes badly damaged.not to mention bout the old historical buildings that eventually collapsed right after the earthquake struck.There are like more than 100 over aftershocks which makes the situation even worst....The airport was also closed this morning..Last night, massive aftershocks with 5.8 magnitude struck like 3 times...more buildings collapsed as a consequence.

some areas are still left without both power and water supply.we're lucky to have both.i can still shower :)
